Approximate total length is 32.3mm. These needles were primarily made for toy and small sewing machines, however some small type machines were used for light industrial work. 24x1 Fits: Betsy Ross, Comet, Elna, Martha Washington, So-Toy, Singer 20 (1910-1913), 24 (1880), 25, 26, 158 240W, 240K, 20Toy (1910-1950), Muller (most models, NOT Muller Zone or pre WWII takes 12x1). *24x3 Fits:24K1, 24K3 (two needle machines), Singer Sew Handy 40K, 50. Special Note: 24x3 needles are No Longer Available, you can substituted with the 24x1 by inserting this needle into the needle clamp INCORRECTLY (with it's flat side to the right - the side from which you thread the needle - opposite from the needle clamp screw). The 24x3 is an unusual needle in the fact that the long groove in the needle is on the same side as the flat side, this is contrary to all other needle designs. A universal note for ALL needles/sewing machines: Always thread the needle into the side with the long grove. The needle as it enters the fabric makes room only for itself, thus the thread finds it's home in the long grove. Any other way and thread will break or skip stitches. Please consult your manual for proper needle selection and insertion.
